1 Cor 13:4-8
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
I was asked last friday, how to tell whether one is really in love or not. The truth of the matter is, the qn is based on the idea of falling in love. Love is seen as a swimming pool of sorts, that you fall into/get into and subsequently fall out of. However, clearly throughout the Bible, we are given examples of people who chose to love. Most significantly, when we examine Christ's example, we see that He loved us immaculately, despite the glaring flaws that we all possess.
And so, how does one know if one is in love or not? My suggestion would be to follow your head first and rein in your heart. Emotions are deceptive but powerful, but God has given you a capable mind, to conform to His thoughts and also the self-control to do His will.
Love is a choice, not a swimming pool. heh.
Seeya soonly babes :)
